Stoke City vs Aston Villa
2012/2013 English Premier League, Round 32
On Saturday, 6th April at 15:00 GMT, Stoke City will host
Aston Villa at the Britannia Stadium for Round 32 of the 2012/2013
English Premier League. This battle in the bottom third is important for both sides as either club aims for maximum points.
Villains dropped to relegation territory after losing to Liverpool at
home last weekend (1-2). Christian Benteke opened up the scoring in that
match but manager Paul Lambert was ultimately left frustrated when
Jordan Henderson and Steven Gerrard turned the tide in favour of the
Reds. Benteke is expected to start up front again in hopes of finding
the net despite going scoreless against Stoke when they met in December.
Stoke are a team in trouble, only staying out of the relegation fight
thanks to an excellent first half of the season. Villa are right in the
middle of the relegation battle but hope they can gain ground on the
teams above with another win here.
Stoke are currently 13th in the table with 34 points from 31
matches which has them 4 points ahead of the relegation zone. They
have won just 1 match in their last 12 and have lost 4 of their last 5.
The pressure is mounting on Tony Pulis and after a great first half to
the season things have gone into free fall for Stoke this year.
