Espanyol and Barcelona has nothing to play for but honor in this Primera Division local derby. Barcelona are crowned BBVA Liga champions, and still people talk about the team needing a revolution. After all; they only won the league and reached the Champions League semis. No small expectations, nopes!
Neither team has much to play for with regards to league positions, with the hosts firmly established in mid-table while Barcelona wrapped up their 22nd La Liga title two weeks ago.
Espanyol have lost three of their last four games, including last weekend's 2-0 defeat at Deportivo La Coruna.
With nothing to play for but honor I think Espanyol has a better chance
than normal. Barcelona shook off their shameful exit of the Champions
League in a good way domestically, but for them it is probably all about
next season now in the back of their minds.
Possible line-ups:
Espanyol: Alvarez; Rodriguez, Colotto, Alvarez, Javi Lopez; Baena, Verdu, Mubarak, Gomez; Stuani, Sergio Garcia.
Barcelona: Pinto; Dani Alves, Correia, Pique, Jordi Alba; Busquets, Iniesta, Xavi; Tello, Sanchez, Villa.
